Join CMSA AZ for our first CEU class and virtual networking opportunity of 2021. We'll kick off the meeting with a fun, interactive Mixology Class presented by Liquid Caterers at 5:30p. Note: Stay tuned for details about the visual "mixers" we'll be using. Immediately following the mixology demo, we'll delve into an incredibly important presentation about human trafficking. This 2.0 CEU virtual presentation will address Arizona's human trafficking problem in an effort to help case managers better understand the challenges faced by survivors. Topics will include:

  • Legislation/government action
  • Community risk factors
  • Recovery/restoration of survivor efforts
  • Best practices from ASU, the McCain Foundation
  • Local case studies including experiences with this population

 

Meet the Speaker:

 

Brian Steele serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Phoenix Dream Center through which he oversees eight (8) life recovery campuses in Arizona which provide housing to over 700-people each night in life recovery programs. He also serves on AZ Governor Doug Ducey's Human Trafficking Council as the Victim Services Committee Chair as well as the Chair of the Victim Services Committee for the City of Phoenix Human Trafficking Task Force. 

Brian has worked for 18 years in Phoenix to increase life recovery housing and social services available for the homeless, victims of human trafficking, foster care and those affected by addiction. Before entering full time into the Social Services arena, Brian spent eight (8) years working in Engineering for Corporate Manufacturing. He holds a Masters level Theology degree, a Bachelors level Management degree, as well as Engineering and Middle Eastern Studies Certifications which have led him to hold Pastoral and Missional related positions in multiple continents as well as domestically in the U.S. Brian can be reached directly at: Phoenix Dream Center, 3210 Grand Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85017. CEU OBJECTIVES:

  • To earn 2 CEUs, all attendees must be logged on to the Zoom meeting by 5:45p
  • Attendees will be able to understand the greater Phoenix, AZ area human trafficking efforts, including local static, local legislation, government action, community risk factors, and local recovery and restoration of survivor efforts.
  • Attendees will be equipped with the best practices that have come out of Arizona State University, the McCain Foundation, and local service provider studies & experiences working with population.
  • Attendees will be inspired to take action through testimonials and real-life stories of survivors of human trafficking.
  • Following your attendance of the presentation, you will receive a Post-Evaluation Survey email from CMSA AZ. Upon receipt of completed survey, your CEU certificate will be delivered via e-mail.
