Continuing education is a necessary component of our professional practice. In order to maintain CCM certification, we must attend courses to keep our practice and certifications current.
There are times when we attend continuing education programs that do not have pre-approved CCM hours/credits. In order to receive credit for these courses with CCM, there is an easy process to apply for approval of the courses and credit them to your continuing education transcript.
This is super-easy, and it is a great way to add on classes you take. Below are the steps to follow in this process:
- Sign on to the CCM site: ccmcenter.org
- Access the CE Center
- Scroll down the page to “Add Course”
- Select “Post Approval” and complete the sections:
- Title
- Program location and date
- Clock hours
- Category of the activity
- Focus area describing the CE content
- Description on how the program relates to your domain focus
- Keep your certificate of completion for the course in your records. Do not send it to CCM. CCM does random audits of CCM transcripts. If they do a random audit of your records, they will notify you.
- Select “Add Course” and this will be entered in your transcript.
We hope this helps you with program attendance in a variety of settings. CCM has made course recognition simple with their online process for transcript recording.
