President

Richard LaSota
Richard has been an RN for 20 years and has held his CCM certification for 10 years. He is currently the Director of Business Development at Plaza Healthcare in Scottsdale. In addition to his responsibility for business growth, the Case Management Director reports directly to Richard. Prior to his current position, Richard was with Life Care Centers of America and Mariner Health Care as the corporate Director of Managed Care Development. At FHP/PacifiCare, Richard developed the Case Management program for the Arizona market.
In addition to his board position with CMSA Arizona, Richard also sits on the Public Policy Committee for the Arizona Health Care Association. Case Management has always been a passion for Richard and he looks forward to serving on the Board of Directors and help advance Case Management in Arizona.
Richard lives in Phoenix with his wife Cathy and two daughters, Ann and Alison.

Mary Addison
Mary began her nursing career as a practicing bedside nurse, was recruited to a nurse case manager role in the early 1990’s and worked her way up to leadership roles and served as Director of Case Management. Has over 15 years experience in hospital case management. She supports the case management model which partners case managers with physicians to co-manage the care of the patient.
Mary is the Network Director of Clinical Resource Management at John C Lincoln Hospitals in Phoenix, Arizona.
She is the current President Elect of CMSA Arizona chapter; she also serves on the Public Policy Committee, and the General Education Committee.

Executive Director
Laura is currently the Executive Director of the Arizona Chapter of Case Management Society of America (CMSA). She is a Registered Nurse receiving her BSN at the Arizona State University. She is also a Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Laughter Leader (CLL), and a therapeutic Clown providing her the fun opportunity to bring laughter back into people’s lives. She has worked in many areas of healthcare which include hospital, insurance and case management companies. She completed her Masters in Leadership at the Grand Canyon University in 2008.
Laura has been a member of CMSA for the last 9 years, being on the board the same amount of time. She also volunteers her time in several other non-profits organizations. Her favorite duties are when she is doing a laughter class or being Miss. Lady Bug, her clown.
Laura lives in Tempe, Arizona at the “Bachrach zoo” which includes her husband Harrison, her three children Amber, Erin and Alex, and her two Collies, Dude and Rover, and her four cats, Thomas O’Malley, Misty, Buttons, and Maisy.

Kim Schmoll
Kim has been an RN for over 30 years. She is currently the CEO of her own company, Case Management Mentoring Solutions. In addition to being CEO for CMMS she also works as a nurse reviewer for Banner. Prior to starting her own business she worked for a fortune 500 company and was one of the first on-site Health Coaches. She implemented a well rounded Disease Case Management program for one of the largest national transportation companies.
She has served in multiple health care disciplines which include, ICU, telemetry, medical/surgical, behavioral health, recovery room, home health, and research. She has worked as a supervisor for a skilled nursing facility and outpatient clinics.
Kim was an active Member-at-Large for the last two years. She also expanded CMSA Arizona’s social networking site by becoming the Face Book and Twitter administrator. Kim also is on the Public Policy and Scholarship Committee.
She is a firm believer in continuing education and is now pursuing her Masters at Grand Canyon University in Leadership. Kim is proud and excited to be elected as one of CMSA Arizona’s leaders!

Anthony Mollica
Mr. Mollica has nine years of intense, progressive leadership experience and success in driving business growth and success in small business and large matrix corporations. He has served as the Principal for a start-up business that through extensive growth was sold to an international corporation. His passion flourishes in development of highly energized result-oriented teams.
Mr. Mollica joined UnitedHealth Group in 2005. Prior to accepting the appointment in 2008 to lead the OptumHealth Phoenix service center, Mr. Mollica had experience at Optumhealth in Healthcare Product Development/Management and Healthcare IT. He specifically spent significant time managing the Case Management product suite and developing the foundation for Personal Health Support. Additionally, he has solid experience in the wellness space. He led the team that developed online wellness products for UnitedHealth Group’s wellness portal. His experience includes Health Assessment, Incentives, Online Health Coach, Personal Health Records, and Electronic Messaging Solutions. He is very active in the healthcare industry outside of his professional role. He holds a board position on the local Arizona Case Management Society of America’s chapter and is heavily involved in developing strong partnerships with the nursing schools and leadership groups throughout the regions to continue to combat the economic factors of the nursing industry.
Mr. Mollica has had progressive experience over the past three years working with Custom accounts for OptumHealth on the Product, IT, and Operational side. Here is a list of accounts that Mr. Mollica’s leadership has added value to: Qwest Communications, Aramark, State of Arizona, UPS, Xcel Energy, SW Gas, Diamond Offshore Drilling, Citgo, Washington Mutual, Georgia Pacific, and National Elevator.

Treasurer
Deni is employed by CIGNA HeathCare for 11 yrs and is an inpatient case manager. She has been employed as a workers compensation case manager and in the acute hospital setting as a CV ICU nurse.
Deni serves on the board of the Arizona Chapter of CMSA as the Treasurer and has been a member of CMSA since 2007.

MaryLee Kennedy
Mary Lee Kennedy RN, BSN has 38+ years in nursing and worked for 30+ years in the Ohio Public Schools as a School Health Nurse. Upon retirement she relocated with her family to Arizona. Retirement quickly gave way to home health nursing. She was employed by a Scottsdale based HHA as a field nurse and case manager. In July of 2010 she was employed by a company from Montana to start a new home health agency from the ground up serving as Director of Case Management and Interim Director of Clinical Services. She is currently employed by Mesa Public Schools, Queen School District and Network of Care Home Health. She also finds time to spend with her 5 grandchildren who all live in the valley and lead the Compassion Ministry at her church.
